Anurag Star Award 2025 Goes to Actor Ershad Hasan

Md. Ershad Hasan, a celebrated actor, trainer, and director in Bangladesh’s stage and television industry, has recently been awarded the “Anurag Star Award 2025” in recognition of his remarkable contributions to acting. The honor reflects his enduring dedication, artistic excellence, and strong connection with audiences. On Friday, October 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM, he received the award from distinguished guests at the National Art Gallery Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Md. Ershad Hasan is equally accomplished in stage plays, street theatre, mime, and television performances. His stage work is praised for deep script understanding, natural character portrayal, and a strong connection with the audience. On television, his roles in various serials and dramas have left a lasting impression on viewers. As a trainer and director, he continues to mentor and guide the next generation of performers.

The Anurag Star Award Committee noted that the honor celebrates Hasan’s multifaceted contributions and serves as an inspiration for emerging artists. Committee President Mostofa Motihar said, “Md. Ershad Hasan’s skill and dedication are not only exemplary for an individual artist but also enrich the nation’s cultural landscape.”

In recognition of his acting excellence, Md. Ershad Hasan has previously received numerous awards, including the TRAB Star Award 2025 from the Television Reporters Association of Bangladesh, the Sundarban Tourism Club Award 2025, the Hiron Kiran Natya Padak 2024, and the International Uchimura Award 2008 for his performance in the joint production of the play Eksho Basta Chal (One Hundred Sacks of Rice) by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and the Japanese Embassy in Dhaka. His achievements have earned him wide acclaim both nationally and internationally.

Expressing his gratitude, Hasan said, “Receiving this award is a tremendous honor. It motivates me to continue my work and connect even more deeply with audiences in the future.”

The award ceremony was attended by BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu as the chief guest. Legendary actor and BNP Cultural Secretary Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Ujjal delivered the keynote speech, while Anurag President Mostofa Motihar presided over the event. Special guests included Robiul Islam Robi, Secretary, Jubo Dal, Dhaka Metropolitan South; Shamim Mahmud, President, Chhatra Dal, Dhaka Metropolitan South; and lyricist and researcher A.B.M. Sohel Rashid.
