The government has officially declared Cox’s Bazar Airport an international airport through a gazette notification.
The notification, signed by Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Joint Secretary Ahmed Jamil, was issued on Sunday.
According to the notification, exercising the powers conferred under Sub-rule (1) of Rule 16 of the Civil Aviation Rules, 1984, the government has declared Cox’s Bazar Airport as Cox’s Bazar International Airport.
The order, issued in the public interest, takes effect immediately.
