Bangladesh recorded 1,056 new suspected measles cases and five more deaths in the past 24 hours, the country's health authorities said on Wednesday.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin, 62 cases of measles were confirmed between 8am Tuesday and 8am Wednesday, with no confirmed death during the same period.
The DGHS said that since 15 March, the total number of confirmed measles cases has stood at 8,834, while suspected cases have reached 67,079.
During the same period, 88 people died from confirmed measles, while 472 deaths were reported among suspected cases.
Besides, a total of 49,903 patients have recovered so far, the DGHS said.
