A major fire erupted on the third floor of a commercial building in the capital’s Mirpur-2 area on Monday noon, with many believed to be trapped inside.
At least four people have been rescued. Five firefighting units are working to tame the blaze and more units are on the way, said Md Anwarul Karim, a media officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).
Around 1:52pm, the fire erupted at the LA Plaza opposite to the Mirpur-2 stadium, Md Anwarul Karim said. The first fire service unit reached the spot six minutes later, he added.
