Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim has regained his position as convener of the Kabi Jasim Uddin Hall unit of Dhaka University after nearly two and a half months of suspension.
The information was confirmed in a notice signed by Md Jahangir Alam, office secretary (with vice-president status) of the organisation on Thursday (21 May).
According to the notice, the organisational relief previously imposed on Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim, convener of the hall unit under the University of Dhaka branch of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, has been withdrawn. As a result, there are no longer any restrictions on his organisational activities.
The notice also stated that the decision was approved on Thursday (21 May) by Rakibul Islam Rakib and Nasir Uddin Nasir.
Earlier on 4 March, Hamim was temporarily relieved of his duties over allegations of violating organisational discipline. Prior to that, he had been served a show-cause notice on 27 February by the central committee of the student organization.
