Two Bangladeshi nationals were killed in an Israeli drone strike targeting a residential building in the Zebdine area of Lebanon’s Nabatieh district. 

A Syrian national also died in the attack, according to reports from local media outlet L'Orient Today on Monday.

The victims were reportedly working as laborers in the region when the strike occurred. However, the exact identities of the deceased Bangladeshis have not yet been released.

The strike comes despite a ceasefire agreement announced by U.S. President Donald Trump on April 16. International observers noted that Israeli forces have continued operations in southern Lebanon, targeting both Hezbollah infrastructure and residential areas, leading to significant civilian displacement and property destruction.

In response to the continued bombardment, the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah launched retaliatory drone strikes against Israeli military positions on Monday. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka has previously advised Bangladeshi expatriates in Lebanon to exercise extreme caution and remain in safe shelters as the security situation in the Middle East remains volatile. 

Details regarding the repatriation of the victims' remains are expected following official verification.
