The government is moving to form an international-standard investigation committee to examine why measles vaccines were not procured on time, Information and Broadcasting Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr Zahed Ur Rahman said on Tuesday.
Speaking at a briefing at the Secretariat, he said the committee would be formed with both international and local coordination.
However, he noted that there was currently no need to declare a state of emergency over the measles situation.
“If any punishable offence is found against anyone, action will be taken,” Dr Zahed said, adding that the government will also examine whether there were any shortcomings on its part.
