Nusrat Tabassum takes oath as reserved seat MP

Newly-elected Member of Parliament from a reserved women’s seat, Nusrat Tabassum Jyoti, has taken her oath of office in the National Parliament (Jatiya Sangsad).

The oath was administered on Wednesday by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed at his office in Parliament House. 

The ceremony was conducted by Parliamentary Secretary Barrister Md Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan.

According to parliamentary procedures, the oath was taken under Article 148 of the Constitution of Bangladesh and Rule 5 of the parliamentary rules of procedure.

Following the oath, the newly sworn-in MP signed the oath register in the office of the parliamentary secretary as per tradition.

Senior officials of the Parliament Secretariat, the Deputy Speaker, and the Chief Whip of the Opposition were present at the ceremony.
