Police administration undergoes major reshuffle

In a major reshuffle in the police administration, the home ministry has transferred 39 senior officials to different units, including nine deputy inspectors general (DIGs) and 30 superintendents of police (SPs).

Two separate gazette notifications in this regard were issued by the ministry on Tuesday.

The orders, issued in the public interest, will come into effect immediately.

According to a notification, current DIG Sylhet range Md Mushfequr Rahman has been transferred to the police headquarters as DIG, while Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Commissioner Md Zillur Rahman has been made the DIG Sylhet range.

DIG of the Special Branch (SB) Md Fayezul Kabir has been posted to the RMP as its commissioner.

On the other hand, Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam has been posted to the Tourist Police as its DIG, and DIG Md Ashik Sayeed at police headquarters has been made the BMP commissioner.

Additional Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) SN Md Nazrul Islam has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as its DIG, with DIG CID Md Abul Bashar Talukder making additional commissioner of the DMP.

Another Additional Commissioner of the DMP, Sana Shaminur Rahman, has been posted to the CID as its DIG and current DIG CID Mohammad Shamsul Haque has been made additional commissioner of the DMP.

Besides, Shahedul Akbar Khan who was returned to the police department from the post of deputy secretary has been posted to the SB as its special superintendent (SS), while current SP at the 13th Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Eliza Sharmin has been posted to the police headquarters in its SP Training Reserve (TR) post.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Maksuder Rahman and APBn SP Kazi Akhtarul Alam have been transferred to the SB as its SS, and DMP DC Md Morshed Alam and Mohammad Ahaduzzaman Miah have been posted to the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) as its DC.

Besides, Additional Superintendent of Police of the APBn and newly promoted as supernumerary SP Sajedur Rahman has been posted to the DMP as its ADC.

The home ministry through another notification transferred 23 more SPs to new stations.

Panchagarh SP Md Rabiul Islam has been posted to the River police as its SP, while SP at the APBn-2 at Muktagachha has been made the Panchagarh SP.

Bandarban SP Md Abdur Rahman has been transferred to the Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) as its DC, while SS of the SB Md Wahbul Islam Khandakar has been made the Bandarban SP.

Joypurhat SP Mina Mahmuda has been posted to the DMP as its DC, while SP Shahnaz Begum, attached to the office of the DIG Dhaka range has been made SP in Joypurhat.

Pabna SP Md Anwar Zahid has been transferred to the SB as its SS, while SS SB Md Sufi Ullah has been made the Pabna SP.

Nilphamari SP Sheikh Zahidul Islam has been transferred to the DMP as its DC, while Industrial Police SP Md Farhad Hossain Khan has been the district’s SP.

Narail SP Md Al Mamun Shikdar has transferred to the Tourist Police as its SP, while DMP DC Mallik Ahsan Uddin Sami has been appointed as the SP in Narail.

Satkhira SP Md Arefin Juwel has been posted to the APBn as its SP, while SP of Bangladesh Police Academy Sharda Abu Saleh Md Ashraful Alam has been made the Satkhira SP.

Chandpur SP Md Rabiul Hassan has been posted to the DMP as its DC, while Jhalakathi SP Md Mizanur Rahman has been made the Chandpur SP.

SP CID Prottus Kumar Majumder has been made SP in Jhalakathi, while Moulvibazar SP Mohammad Billal Hossain has been transferred to the River Police in the same rank.

RMP DC Md Riazul Islam has been posted to Moulvibazar as its SP, while Chattogram SP Md Nazir Ahmed Khan has been transferred to the APBn as its SP.

DMP DC Md Masud Alam has been made the SP in Chattogram, Feni SP Md Shafiqul Islam has been transferred to the police headquarters as its assistant inspector general (AIG), and Chattogram Metropolitan Police DC Md Mahbub Alam Khan has been posted to Feni as its SP.
