Safety for women and children remains a major concern in Bangladesh. Every day, incidents of violence, harassment, and delays in receiving emergency assistance continue to surface. In this context, a technology-driven solution is emerging— 'Survivor’s Path,' an SOS emergency app designed to provide immediate help in critical situations.
Insecurity is not limited to personal fear; it also affects education, employment, and mental well-being. In many cases, victims fail to receive timely legal support, and even a small delay can sometimes lead to life-threatening consequences.
Against this backdrop, Survivor’s Path has been developed with simple yet effective features. With just one tap, users can send an SOS alert. The app also enables real-time location sharing, instantly notifying family members, authorities, and emergency service providers. It includes response tracking and a dedicated mental health support helpline.
One of the app’s key strengths is its ease of use during emergencies. After registration, users can activate the SOS signal simply by pressing the phone’s power button. Immediately, an emergency message along with live location is sent to selected contacts and relevant authorities.
According to tech industry insiders, such integrated and real-time SOS systems are not yet widely available in Bangladesh. From that perspective, Survivor’s Path could open a new horizon in safety technology.
The initiative is led by young entrepreneur Munazia Snigdha Moon. Speaking to The News, she said the platform was built by combining safety, technology, and human rights. 'Our goal is to ensure that no one feels alone in moments of danger,' she added.
She also mentioned that the Survivor’s Path app will soon be available on the Google Play Store. Alongside the launch, a mental health protection helpline and a dedicated support center will also be introduced.
The developers believe that this is not just a technological innovation but could evolve into a social movement — one where standing by someone in danger becomes a shared responsibility.
Experts suggest that in situations where even a second can make the difference between life and death, Survivor’s Path has the potential to become a reliable lifeline.
