Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, the main opposition party in Parliament, is set to unveil a "shadow budget" tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon.
The move comes ahead of the national budget for the 2026–27 fiscal year, following a similar initiative by its alliance partner, National Citizen Party (NCP).
The shadow budget will be presented at a press conference at Al-Falah Auditorium in Dhaka’s Moghbazar area, according to Jamaat's central publicity department.
Opposition Leader in Parliament and Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman, along with other senior party leaders, is expected to attend the event.
Earlier on Friday, the NCP, an ally of the Jamaat-led 11-party alliance, unveiled a shadow budget in which it divided the country’s economy into 12 sectors and put forward 71 recommendations.
