Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) declined in early trade today, extending their losing streak for the fourth consecutive session.
The DSEX, the main gauge of the premier bourse, declined 4.96 points, or 0.09 percent, to 5,332.90 by 12:02pm, according to DSE data.
Sentiment was negative, with the Shariah-compliant DSES and the blue-chip DS30 indices edging lower.
Turnover, a key measure of investor participation, stood at Tk 222.11 crore at the time.
Market breadth was mixed, with 161 issues advancing against 150 declining, while 81 remained unchanged.
Rahima Food Corporation surged 7.98 percent to top the gainers' list, while First Security Islami Bank shed 9.68 percent, marking the biggest fall of the session so far.
