Final admission to Class XI for the 2026-27 academic year begins today, with selected students required to complete the process in person at their respective colleges by submitting the prescribed fees and documents.
The admission process will continue until September 22, according to a notice published on the central Class XI admission website on Saturday night.
The migration results were also published, confirming the colleges where selected students can enrol.
Required documents
Students will need copies of their SSC marksheet and certificate, SSC admit card, two to four recently taken passport-size colour photographs, a copy of the online application confirmation, and mobile phone numbers of both the student and guardian.
Admission fees
According to the Education Ministry's admission policy, admission fees range from Tk 1,500 to Tk 8,500, depending on the type and location of the institution and the medium of instruction.
For MPO-listed institutions in Dhaka metropolitan area, the maximum admission fee for both Bangla and English versions is Tk 5,000. The maximum fee is Tk 3,000 at MPO-listed institutions in other metropolitan and divisional cities, Tk 2,000 at district-level institutions and Tk 1,500 at colleges in upazilas and rural areas.
For non-MPO and partially MPO-listed institutions, the maximum fee in Dhaka metropolitan area is Tk 7,500 for the Bangla version and Tk 8,500 for the English version. The fees are Tk 3,000 and Tk 4,000 respectively at district headquarters, and Tk 2,500 and Tk 3,000 respectively in upazilas and rural areas.
Seven per cent quota
Under the admission policy, 93 per cent of seats will remain open to all students based on merit, with selection based on SSC and equivalent examination results.
Of the remaining 7 per cent, 5 per cent has been proposed to be reserved for sons and daughters of freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters, while 2 per cent will be reserved for children of officials and employees of the Education Ministry and its subordinate offices and agencies.
The quota system will apply only to the 2026-27 academic year.
The Class XI admission results were published on September 16. A total of 995,234 students applied for admission, while 980,815 were initially nominated for college admission.
Of them, 853,441 students confirmed their nominations within the stipulated period, while 127,374 did not. Their initial nominations were subsequently cancelled.
Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Education Board, told that students who failed to confirm their nominations would have to apply again for admission.
‘We will accept another round of applications after the admission of the 853,441 students selected in the first phase. Those who failed to confirm their nominations will be able to apply then and seek admission,’ he said.
