Fire breaks out in bus parked in Rajbari

A local bus caught fire at the Daulatdia Bus Terminal in Goalanda, Rajbari. The incident took place at the Daulatdia Bus Terminal around 1 am on Sunday (September 20).

The name of the bus that caught fire is 'New Classical'. The bus number is Dhaka Metro-B-14-9124. It is under the jurisdiction of Rajbari Malik Samiti and was plying on the Daulatdia to Kushtia route.

According to local sources, the bus was parked at the Daulatdia bus terminal around 1 am on Sunday. At that time, locals suddenly saw the bus on fire. Later, they informed the Goalanda Fire Service and Civil Defense. Upon receiving the information, the fire service members quickly reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

However, the extent of damage to the bus in the fire was not immediately known. At the same time, the cause of the fire could not be confirmed.

Some locals believe that someone may have deliberately set the bus on fire. Some also believe that the fire may have started from a coil inside the bus. However, no confirmed information has been received on these matters yet.

In this regard, Goalanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shafiqul Islam said, "I heard that a bus caught fire. My police personnel have gone to the spot. The matter is being investigated. I will inform you later if I find out anything."
Police are investigating the matter to find out the exact cause of the fire.
