The results of rescrutiny and re-evaluation of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have been published, with 4,585 students securing passes after initially being declared failed.
Another 3,079 students have newly achieved GPA-5 following the review. The results of many other students also changed in various subjects.
The results were published on the websites of all 11 education boards at 10am on Thursday (10 September). Applicants were also informed of their revised results through SMS sent to the mobile numbers provided in their applications.
The original SSC and equivalent examination results were published on 10 August. The rescrutiny results were therefore released 31 days after the publication of the initial results. Applications for rescrutiny closed on the night of 17 August, meaning the revised results were published 24 days after the application deadline.
This year saw a record number of applications for rescrutiny of SSC and equivalent examination results. A total of 402,051 candidates applied across the 11 education boards. As a candidate could seek rescrutiny of answer scripts in more than one subject, the total number of applications was higher than the number of applicants.
In total, applications were submitted for the rescrutiny of 1,056,455 written examination answer scripts and 231,471 practical examination answer scripts.
This brought the total number of answer scripts for which rescrutiny was sought to 1,287,926.
