The Coast Guard has arrested three suspected drug dealers with 10,000 yaba tablets in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.The tablets, worth an estimated Tk 50 lakh, were recovered during a raid. Tk 2,200 in cash and four mobile phones were also seized.
Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Suzan confirmed the matter in a press release on Wednesday (September 16).
According to the press release, the Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted the operation in Deilpara around 4pm on Tuesday, acting on a tip-off.
The team searched a house in the area and recovered the yaba tablets along with the cash and mobile phones. Three people suspected of being involved in drug dealing were arrested from the house.
Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway, the Coast Guard said.
The Coast Guard also said it would continue such operations to curb drug trafficking and prevent the spread of drugs.
