Gulshan OC removed five days after Awami League flash march

Officer-in-charge of Gulshan Model Police Station Md Daud Hossain has been closed from his post and attached to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police headquarters for administrative reasons.

According to an office order issued on Wednesday and signed by DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Daud Hossain was relieved from Gulshan Model Police Station under Gulshan Division and attached to the Central Reserve Office of the DMP Headquarters and Administration Division.

The order said the attachment took effect immediately from the forenoon.

The move came days after leaders and activists of the activity-banned Awami League and its banned student wing Chhatra League gathered near Police Plaza in Gulshan before Jumah prayers on Friday and brought out a flash procession.

Several crude bombs were reportedly exploded during the procession.

Police later arrested 72 people in connection with the incident, while a court placed 24 of them on a 10-day remand.
