The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has warned that stormy winds of up to 60 km/h may sweep across 20 districts, including Dhaka, by noon on Saturday.
According to the forecast, the gusty conditions are likely to be accompanied by rain or thunderstorms, potentially disrupting normal activities in the affected areas.
The warning was issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department for inland river ports, valid until 1:00pm on Saturday.
According to the advisory, regions including Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet may experience gusty or squally winds from the north or northwest at speeds of 45–60 km/h.
These areas are also likely to witness temporary rain or thunderstorms. River ports in the affected regions have been advised to display signal number 1 as per the warning issued from 3:00am to 1:00pm.
