107 police personnel to get medals

As many as 107 members of the police force are set to receive state recognition during the four-day Police Week 2026, due to be held from 10 May at the Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital.

Selected personnel would get Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and President Police Medal (PPM) for their courage in service, anti-crime operations, skills in solving lawsuits, efficiency, honesty and discipline.

The list also includes multiple officers from Bangladesh Army and Air Force serving in Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to attend the inaugural session of the Police Week, and officially hand over the medals to the recipients.

Ahead of the grand event, all the selected awardees have been called to the Parade Ground of the Rajarbagh Police Lines on Saturday, according to a statement issued by the Bangladesh Police on Thursday.
