32,532 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims reach Saudi Arabia

A total of 32,532 Bangladeshi pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia on 81 flights since the start of Hajj operations, according to the latest Hajj bulletin released on Saturday.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs released the update through its Hajj management bulletin, which tracks flights and pilgrim movement.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 33 flights and transported 13,684 pilgrims. Saudia operated 30 flights and carried 11,299 pilgrims, while Flynas operated 18 flights and transported 7,549 pilgrims to Jeddah.

Authorities confirmed the deaths of two Bangladeshi pilgrims in Saudi Arabia during the ongoing Hajj season. Mohammed Abul Kashem from Tangail died in Mecca after suffering cardiac arrest, while Mohammed Naim Uddin Mondal from Joypurhat died of natural causes in the same city.

The official Hajj flight operations from Bangladesh began on 18 April, when the first dedicated flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines departed with 419 pilgrims on board.

Officials plan to continue outbound flights until 21 May. Return flights for pilgrims will begin on 30 May and continue until 30 June.

This year, 5,565 pilgrims will perform Hajj under government arrangements, while 73,935 pilgrims will travel under private management.
