Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that the government is committed to building a merit-based, confident, creative, and responsible workforce.
He made the remarks on Saturday morning while attending a ceremony in the capital’s New Eskaton area, where he laid the foundation stone of the third building of the BIAM Foundation.
The Prime Minister said that there is no alternative to developing a merit-based, skilled, and people-friendly public administration in all state institutions in order to build the envisioned Bangladesh.
Praising the role of the BIAM Foundation, the Prime Minister said that from its establishment to the present, the institution’s progress reflects that the BNP government has always aimed to develop a skilled and well-trained public administration in the interest of the country and its people.
Tarique Rahman said that in building a modern and prosperous state, the bureaucracy must become more people-oriented. He stressed the importance of training so that officials can develop themselves as true servants of the people.
After laying the foundation stone, he visited the BIAM Foundation’s activities and exchanged views with officials. Senior government officials, cabinet members, and distinguished guests were present at the event.
