The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has returned two Bangladeshi schoolboys after keeping them in custody for around eight hours following their detention from the Patshiri border area under Panchagarh sadar upazila.

They were handed back to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through a flag meeting held on Wednesday afternoon, said Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Md Kayes, commanding officer of Panchagarh 18 BGB Battalion.

Earlier in the morning, the two teenagers were detained by BSF personnel from a nearby camp when they went close to the barbed-wire fence of the border area to take photographs.

The two boys have been identified as Indrajit Roy, 14, son of Shibu Chandra Roy, and Uday Chandra Roy, 14, son of Samaru Chandra Roy of Atwari upazila in the district.

They had been visiting their aunt Radhika Rani’s house in Gorinabari Principalpara area of Panchagarh sadar upazila.
