Former Bangladesh captain Aminul Islam Bulbul has been elected President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) unopposed, while Faruque Ahmed and Sakhawat Hossain have been named as the board’s two Vice Presidents. The announcement was made by Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Hossain on Monday.

The BCB election was held at a five-star hotel in Dhaka from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, where 23 directors were elected through votes across three categories as per the board’s constitution, alongside two members from the National Sports Council (NSC) quota.

In Category 1 (District and Divisional representatives), ten directors were elected, while Category 2 (Dhaka clubs) produced twelve winners. One representative was elected from Category 3, which includes former cricketers and nominees from government and autonomous bodies.

Following the election of the directors, they cast their votes to choose the BCB President. However, with no other candidate contesting for the post, Bulbul was elected unopposed.

Bulbul, who had previously served as the BCB President during the last term on an interim basis under NSC nomination, has now officially taken charge through a full election for the first time.
