The government aims to begin operations at the new Secretariat in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar by 2029 after the Cabinet approved a proposal to relocate the administrative complex from Abdul Gani Road in Dhaka.
The approval was given at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat on Sunday.
Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani announced the decision at a press briefing in the conference room of the Press Information Department (PID) following the meeting.
The government is targeting 2029 to begin administrative operations at the new Secretariat in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, the cabinet secretary said.
