Three metro rail projects get ECNEC approval

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved three metro rail projects for the capital.

Officials concerned said the three metro rail projects would require a combined estimated expenditure of around Tk250,000 crore.

The projects were approved at an ECNEC meeting held on Wednesday (16 September), according to sources.

Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Tarique Rahman presided over the meeting.

The approved projects are Metro Rail Line-5 Southern Route, Metro Rail Line-1 and Metro Rail Line-5 Northern Route.
