National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam MP and NCP Chief Organizer (Southern Region) and Cumilla-4 lawmaker Hasnat Abdullah MP paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of University of Chittagong, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan.
The meeting was held at the VC’s office on Thursday (May 7) at 7:00 pm. CU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin was also present.
During the meeting, they discussed various important issues, including the university’s current academic environment, campus discipline, student safety, and the development of research and higher education standards.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan welcomed the guests and sought cooperation from all stakeholders to further strengthen the university’s academic and administrative activities.
He said the university administration is working continuously to maintain a proper academic atmosphere and improve the quality of research and higher education at the university. He also expressed optimism that with collective efforts and cooperation, the university would reach new heights of success.
NCP Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam thanked the Vice-Chancellor and expressed hope that academic excellence, transparency, a healthy campus environment, and democratic coexistence would continue to prevail at the university. He also called upon students to play a constructive and responsible role in this regard.
Among others present at the meeting were CU Proctor Professor Dr. Hossain Shahid Sarwarwardy, assistant proctors, Chaksu Vice-President Ibrahim Hossain Rony, other Chaksu representatives, leaders of NCP and Chhatra Shakti from central and local levels, students, and other concerned individuals.
