No deal with Iran except 'unconditional surrender': Trump

Published : Friday, 6 March, 2026 at 8:47 PM  Count : 27

US President Donald Trump has said that there would be no deal struck with Iran except "unconditional surrender," a week after launching war with Israel against Tehran.

The war between Iran and the United States-Israel is continuing for the seventh day, with both sides trading missiles and drones towards each other, resulting into massive destruction.

At least 1,230 people have been killed in the war so far, and global energy trade has come to a standstill. While Iran has not officially shut off the Strait of Hormuz -- through which a fifth of the world's crude supplies and a substantial amount of gas run -- shipping through the critical waterway has all but dried up.

The worst casualty has been suffered by Iran till now, with its supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, killed on the first day of attacks.
