Following a two-hour rain delay, Bangladesh’s final match of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup against hosts India finally got underway at 5:30 PM on Sunday at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. The game has been reduced to 43 overs per side.
Earlier, India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to field first.
Bangladesh have already bowed out of the tournament after suffering five straight losses since their opening win over Pakistan. India, on the other hand, have secured a semifinal spot and will be aiming to keep their winning rhythm intact ahead of the knockouts.
India handed a debut to wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry, while Kranti Gaud, Sneh Rana, and Richa Ghosh are rested. Radha Yadav and Amanjot Kaur return to the XI. Bangladesh made one change, with Sumaiya Akter replacing Fargana Hoque.
