Two friends died in a head-on collision between a covered van and a motorcycle in Sherpur, Bogura.
The accident took place at around 11am on Monday (March 17) at Rajapur on the Dhaka-Bogura highway of the upazila.
The dead were Hridoy Sarkar, 21, and Shuvo Sheikh, 21, residents of Birail Purbapara village under Mirzapur union of the upazila.
Another friend, motorcyclist Sagar, 21, was injured in the accident.
Locals said three friends went to Mirzapur Yusuf Uddin High School to take pictures as new voters riding on a motorcycle in the morning. Later, on their way home, their motorcycle collided head-on with a covered van. Shuvo fell off the motorcycle and was crushed by the wheels of the truck coming from behind, leaving him dead on the spot.
Later, the injured were rescued and taken to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex, where Hridoy died.
Sherpur Highway Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Nur Hossain confirmed it.
