Police recovered the body of an unidentified woman, estimated to be around 36 years of age, from the side of the Anwara-Banshkhali Road in Anwara upazila of Chattogram this morning.
The body was recovered from the Jheori area of Barkhain Union around 10:00am today, said Monir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Anwara Police Station.
After being informed by locals, police recovered the body of the woman, he said, adding, there was no injury mark in the body.
However, police primarily suspect that the woman was strangled and the body was dumped in the desolate place by the side of the road some time on Sunday night, he said.
"The body was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital Morgue for an autopsy," said the OC, adding that a case was under the process of being filed with the police station in connection to this incident.
