BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman asked everyone to pray for his mother, party chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia, while attending her namaz-e-janaza.
"I am Tarique Rahman, eldest son of Khaleda Zia. I want to tell everyone present here, if anyone has lent money to Khaleda Zia while she was alive, please get in touch with me," he said at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad before the janaza.
"Also, if anyone was hurt by her behaviour while she was alive, I apologise on her behalf. I ask everyone to pray that Allah grants her paradise," he added.
The funeral prayer for Khaleda Zia was held at 3:02pm.
A huge gathering of people filled Manik Mia Avenue today to pay their final respects to the former prime minister.
