Stakeholders of Madhumati Model Town have called for coordinated and lawful initiatives to resolve longstanding problems, safeguard plot owners’ legitimate rights and accelerate the development of the housing project.
The call came at a special discussion meeting organised by the Madhumati Model Town Welfare Association on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Plot No. 7, Road No. M-2, Block G-1, Madhumati Model Town.
Dr. M. M. M. Emran Chowdhury, chairman of Metro Makers & Developers Ltd., the company behind the project, and president of the Madhumati Model Town Welfare Association, presided over the meeting virtually through Google Meet from Australia.
The programme was hosted by plot owner Mohammad Anwarul Islam, who also sponsored the event and arranged hospitality for the participants.
Legal complexities and future development in focus
Addressing the meeting virtually, Dr. Emran Chowdhury discussed the history of Madhumati Model Town, the challenges surrounding the project, existing legal and administrative complexities, and the expectations of plot owners.
He particularly highlighted the ongoing modification case and expressed hope that a lawful resolution would help protect the legitimate interests of plot owners and create opportunities for further development of the project.
He emphasised the importance of proper planning, transparency, accountability, organisational discipline and cooperation among all concerned parties in transforming Madhumati Model Town into a planned, modern and secure residential community.
He also stressed that any allegations of irregularities, negligence or failures in the management of the project should be examined impartially on the basis of verifiable evidence and through appropriate legal procedures.
Participants underscored the need for collective efforts, improved communication among plot owners and greater coordination within the association to address the project's longstanding challenges.
Chairman shares personal experiences from abroad
During his virtual address, Dr. Chowdhury also spoke about his personal experiences, political involvement and the difficulties he said he had faced over the years.

He further referred to a payment of Tk 1.35 crore to the Zia Charitable Trust Fund. The claims and details mentioned in these personal and political accounts were not independently verified in the meeting report.
Speaking about his prolonged stay abroad and separation from his homeland, family members and associates, Dr. Chowdhury became emotional. Participants expressed their wishes for his good health, safe return to Bangladesh and success in future efforts for the welfare of Madhumati Model Town.
