Tanjin Tisha says she will return to court if needed

Actress Tanjin Tisha appeared before a Dhaka court on Tuesday and sought an extension of her bail in a case filed against her over allegations of fraud and breach of trust. The court granted her request.
The case concerns a saree worth Tk 28,800.
Tisha appeared before Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin’s court on September 29 and submitted the bail extension petition. Her lawyer, Nihar Hossain Faruk, confirmed the matter to The Financial Post.
Speaking to reporters after leaving the court, Tisha said, “We often receive gifts from fans and colleagues out of love and appreciation. We accept them in that spirit. That is how I ended up in trouble over a gift.”

Explaining the matter, she said, “We have an elder sister figure among us. I received the saree through her. We had a good relationship, and when she asked me to accept it as a gift, I agreed. Later, she asked me to post a photo wearing it. I told her I would do it later.”
Tisha said she was busy preparing for the shooting of her film Soldier at the time and could not post the photo immediately.
“I told her to give me some time because I was busy. I repeatedly said I would post it. I had even had the blouse made. Then suddenly I saw news reports saying that I had committed fraud over a saree worth Tk 27,000,” she said.
Tisha also said she was ready to appear before the court as many times as necessary, adding, “Even if I have to come five more times, I will.”
