Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad inaugurates new building

Guests at Bashikp’s 69th anniversary celebration.
The Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad (Bashikp) inaugurated its newly constructed Abdul Gani Khan and Bashikp Bhaban on Saturday. Bashikp President and freedom fighter Dr Makhaduma Nargis formally inaugurated the building by cutting a ribbon at a ceremony held at 2pm on September 19.
Vice-presidents Saiful Alam, Majeda Shawkat Ali, Haji Altaf Hossain and Md Ali Akbar, General Secretary Mohammad Monirul Alam, Treasurer Prof Mizanur Rahman Majumder, Joint Secretary Naser Iqbal Jadu and Organising Secretary Salahuddin Kutu, among others, attended the event. Members of the executive committee, councillors, officials and employees of the organisation, as well as individuals who provided financial assistance for the construction, were also present.

Speaking at the discussion session, Saiful Alam, Mohammad Monirul Alam, Project Director Yasmin Ara Dolly and Dr Makhaduma Nargis highlighted the significance of the new building and the organisation's activities. Appreciation crests were presented to donors who contributed financially to the construction.
The programme also marked the 69th founding anniversary of Bashikp. Dr Makhaduma Nargis cut a cake to celebrate the occasion. A cultural programme was later held with the participation of children from affiliated organisations, including Biborton Sangha, Nashiup and Mukul Fouj.
The online children's literary magazine Urmi was also launched at the event. Dr Makhaduma Nargis inaugurated the magazine in the presence of its adviser-editor Saiful Alam, editor Naser Iqbal Jadu and executive editor Salahuddin Kutu.
