Police have claimed that 13-year-old Ishayat Shahriar Apratim was beaten to death in Cumilla over an iPhone.
Apratim, the only son of Dr Nahida Begum, a teacher at Cumilla University, was allegedly killed after the attackers targeted his iPhone, according to police.
Cumilla Superintendent of Police Md Anisuzzaman disclosed the findings at a press briefing at around 2:15PM on Sunday.
Police have detained four people- Tuhin, Fahad, Kamrul and Siam-- in connection with the killing.
According to the police superintendent, all four detainees have confessed to their involvement in the murder.
Police said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killing.
