The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have been published, with the overall pass rate falling to 62.25%.
A total of 116,676 students secured a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5 in this year’s examinations.
In comparison, the overall pass rate was 68.45% in the 2025 SSC and equivalent examinations, when 139,032 students achieved GPA-5.
Among the nine general education boards, the average pass rate this year stands at 64.05%, down from 68.04% last year — a decline of 3.99 percentage points.
Dhaka Education Board recorded the highest pass rate at 71.63%, followed by Jashore at 66.27% and Cumilla at 65.42%.
Rajshahi recorded a pass rate of 63.67%, while Barishal posted 60.35%. The rates were 59.48% in Chattogram, 58.33% in Sylhet, 58.05% in Dinajpur and 57.39% in Mymensingh.
The Madrasa Education Board recorded a pass rate of 55.49%, while the Technical Education Board posted 58.20%.
Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon formally inaugurated the publication of the results at 10am on Monday at the Education Ministry’s conference room. Chairmen of all education boards handed over the results to the minister on the occasion.
A total of 1,857,344 students, including 1,418,398 SSC, 304,286 Dakhil, and 134,660 Vocational (both SSC and Dakhil), took part in this year’s examinations. Of those, 930,305 are male and 927,039 are female.
Of them, 1,418,398 appeared under the nine general education boards, 304,286 under the Madrasa Education Board’s Dakhil examination, and 134,660 under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board’s SSC (Vocational) examination.
How to check the results
Students can access their results online, through their respective educational institutions, or via SMS.
Results will be available on the websites of the respective education boards, as well as eduboardresult.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd.
To obtain results via SMS, students should type SSC, followed by a space, the first three letters of their education board, another space, their roll number, and another space followed by the examination year, and send the message to 16140 or 16222 from any mobile operator. Each SMS will cost Tk1.39, inclusive of all applicable taxes.
For example, the format for Dhaka Education Board candidates is: SSC DHA ROLL YEAR
For Dakhil candidates under the Madrasa Education Board, the format is: SSC MAD ROLL YEAR
For SSC (Vocational) candidates under the Technical Education Board, the format is: SSC TEC ROLL YEAR
Vocational and Dakhil results
The Technical Education Board said the results of the SSC (Vocational) and Dakhil (Vocational) examinations have been published simultaneously through educational institutions and online.
Institution-wise result sheets can be downloaded from the Result section of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board website using the institution code.
Students can also obtain grade-based transcripts by entering their roll and registration numbers on result.bteb.gov.bd, educationboardresults.gov.bd and eduboardresult.gov.bd.
Dakhil candidates can check their results by visiting the Madrasa Education Board website, bmeb.gov.bd, going to the Online Service-01 section and selecting Dakhil Examination 2026.
Institution-wise results can also be downloaded from ebmeb.gov.bd by selecting DakhileRPS 2026 and clicking Continue.
Results published nearly three months after exams
This year’s SSC and equivalent examinations began on 21 April. Written examinations under the general education boards ended on 20 May, while the written portions of the Dakhil and SSC (Vocational) examinations concluded on 24 May.
Results are usually published within 60 days of the completion of written examinations. Accordingly, the results were expected to be published on 20 July, but they were released nearly three weeks later this year.
Re-scrutiny applications from 11 August
Students will be able to apply online for re-scrutiny of their results from 11 August to 17 August.
The education boards will publish notices on their respective websites outlining the application procedure and relevant instructions.
Students will also be able to collect their results through the designated online platforms, SMS or their respective educational institutions.
