Six more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, three of them in Sylhet. During this period, 1,063 new cases were reported.
The Directorate General of Health Services provided this information in its regular measles report on Sunday, August 9.
According to the report, a total of 775 children have died with measles symptoms since March 15. Confirmed measles deaths stand at 98, bringing the total death toll to 873.
The report said 75 new confirmed measles cases were identified in the last 24 hours. A total of 17,115 people have been diagnosed with measles across the country since March 15.
In the last 24 hours, 988 new cases with measles symptoms were reported. Since March 15, the total number of patients showing measles symptoms has reached 1,36,320.
Since March 15, a total of 1,18,382 patients have been hospitalised with measles symptoms. Of them, 1,14,142 have recovered and been discharged.
