Zahed Ur Rahman, policy and strategy adviser to the Prime Minister, has said that his decision to return from Delhi Airport without entering India was a form of immediate protest.
He made the remarks on Tuesday (16 June) during a press briefing at the conference room of the Information Department at the Secretariat.
Responding to questions from journalists, he said that he did not travel as a private individual but as a representative of the government. Therefore, he felt it was necessary to register an immediate protest over what had happened to him at the airport.
He further said that officials there had made efforts to allow him to enter India and continue his scheduled activities, but he chose not to proceed.
Zahed Ur Rahman added that, as an adviser to the Prime Minister, he felt it was important to send a signal on behalf of the state or government through his decision to return.
