Gold prices in Bangladesh have increased again, with the latest adjustment raising the price of 22-carat gold by Tk5,482 per bhori.
According to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) on Monday (15 June) morning, the new price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk230,422 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The revised rates have come into effect from 10:00am, the release said.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in response to a rise in the price of pure (tejabi) gold in the local market, taking the overall market situation into consideration.
Under the new pricing structure, 21-carat gold is being sold at Tk219,983 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk188,549 per bhori. Gold produced under the traditional method has been fixed at Tk153,557 per bhori.
Earlier on 13 June, the BAJUS adjusted gold prices in the domestic market. At that time, the organisation increased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk6,590 per bhori, setting the new price at Tk224,940 per bhori.
