Post-budget press conference underway

A post-budget press conference is underway at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Friday afternoon following the presentation of the proposed national budget for FY2026-27.

The press conference began at 3pm and is being organised by the Ministry of Finance.

Among those present are Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood (Tuku), Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid (Haji Yasin), Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain, Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon, State Minister for Planning Zonayed Saki, Prime Minister’s Adviser Mahdi Amin, Adviser on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Rehan Asif Asad, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar, Cabinet Secretary Dr Nasimul Ghani, Bangladesh Bank Governor Md Mostakur Rahman, National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan and the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Investment and Capital Markets Tanvir Ghani.

Finance Secretary Dr Md Khairuzzaman Majumder is moderating the event.

On Thursday, Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury presented the proposed national budget for FY2026-27 in parliament in the presence of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
