Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has revised gold prices in the local market. Under the new rates, the price of 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk2,158 per bhori, bringing the new price to Tk235,963.
The revised prices came into effect from 10am on Saturday.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Bajus said the adjustment was made considering the decline in the price of pure gold in the local market as well as the international and domestic market situation.
According to the new rates 22-carat gold; Tk235,963 per bhori, 21-carat gold; Tk225,232 per bhori, 18-carat gold; Tk193,039 per bhori, Traditional method gold; Tk157,231 per bhori.
Earlier, on Thursday, Bajus had raised the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,158 per bhori to Tk238,121.
Market analysts said such frequent adjustments are being made in line with fluctuations in the international gold market.
Meanwhile, despite the reduction in gold prices, silver prices in the local market remain unchanged. Currently, 22-carat silver is selling at Tk5,657 per bhori, while 21-carat silver costs Tk5,365, 18-carat silver Tk4,607, and traditional silver Tk3,441 per bhori.
So far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 68 times — increased 36 times and reduced 32 times. In 2025, gold prices were adjusted 93 times, including 64 increases and 29 reductions.
On the other hand, silver prices have been revised 39 times this year so far, with 21 increases and 18 decreases. In 2025, silver prices were adjusted 13 times.
