Govt taking all steps to ensure hassle-free Eid travel: Minister

Road Transport, Shipping and Railways Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam has said that all necessary measures are being ensured to make the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha journey smooth and hassle-free.

He made the remarks on Sunday morning while attending the inauguration ceremony of Maritime Safety Week-2026 at the Ladies Club on Eskaton Road in the capital.

The minister also said there is no alternative to utilizing the talent, patience, and dedication of officials and employees at all levels to advance the country’s maritime sector.

Speaking at the same programme, State Minister for Shipping Rajib Ahsan said that accidents on waterways could be reduced to zero through awareness and responsibility.

He also instructed the river police to stop the operation of unauthorized and unfit water vessels ahead of Eid.
