Govt dismisses SSC question leak claim as rumour, urges people to stay alert

The government has dismissed a report claiming that the Bangla first paper question paper of SSC examination under all education boards was leaked, describing it as completely false, baseless and motivated.

In a notice issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Education urged students, guardians and the public not to be misled by such misinformation circulating on social media platforms and some news portals.

It comes after the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested four people on charges of swindling money by spreading rumours of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) question paper leaks through a fake Facebook page.

The ministry said the Bangla first paper examination was held on April 21 and the Bangla second paper on April 23, with no reports of any untoward incidents from any examination centre.

It noted that the rumour regarding question paper leakage surfaced only after the exams had already been completed, causing unnecessary anxiety among students and parents.

According to the ministry, the claim of question paper leakage is merely a rumour being spread with the intention of tarnishing the government’s image.

It also clarified that no official or employee of the ministry or its subordinate offices is involved in any such activity.

The ministry advised people to remain cautious, avoid being influenced by false reports and refrain from making any financial transactions related to such claims.

It also urged the people to inform the Ministry of Education if they come across any propaganda or suspicious activities related to question paper leaks.
