Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday unveiled a commemorative postage stamp marking Independence and National Day.
The unveiling ceremony took place at around 9:30am at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat, according to Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
He said the Prime Minister arrived at the Secretariat at 9:02am and completed several official engagements before unveiling the stamp.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam Swapan, Posts Secretary Abdun Naser Khan, and Director General of the Department of Posts Kazi Asadul Islam were present at the ceremony.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to chair a Cabinet meeting at 4:00pm later in the day.
Rumon noted that Cabinet meetings are usually held on Thursdays; however, this week’s meeting has been brought forward to Wednesday as Thursday coincides with Independence and National Day.
