Mirza Abbas, political adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and a member of the BNP standing committee, has been admitted to Singapore General Hospital, where he is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital’s neurosciences department.
The information was confirmed to journalists by BNP Health Affairs Secretary Rafiqul Islam.
Rafiqul said Abbas reached Singapore safely after a three-and-a-half-hour journey via an air ambulance.
Doctors at the hospital have examined him, Rafiqul added, saying that he faced no complications during the flight and is now under medical care.
Earlier in the day, the air ambulance carrying Mirza Abbas left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka for Singapore around 11:30am today.
