Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday visited ailing BNP senior leader and his political adviser Mirza Abbas at Evercare Hospital in the capital.

The prime minister went to the hospital after Jumma prayers and enquired about Abbas’s health condition. 

The BNP standing committee member has been undergoing treatment there since Wednesday night.

Tarique Rahman spent some time beside Abbas’s bed and also spoke with his family members, said Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Roni.

He also instructed the authorities concerned to take swift steps to arrange Abbas’s treatment in Singapore.

Abbas’s wife and president of Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal Afroza Abbas, along with attending doctors, were present at the hospital during the visit.

Mirza Abbas was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Bashundhara on Wednesday night after he suddenly fell ill and lost consciousness.
