Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan, BNP Vice Chairman and Member of Parliament from Tangail-8 (Bashail-Sakhipur), took the oath as a new cabinet minister on Thursday (12 March).
President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath of office at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at around 12:45pm.
Leader of the House and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was also present.
Earlier, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani had announced Azam Khan’s appointment as a member of the cabinet.
The specific ministry or portfolio he will be assigned to has not yet been disclosed.
