Twelve people, including ten members of a family, were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a microbus on Khulna-Mongla highway at Gonai Bridge in Rampal upazila of Bagerhat district today.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The accident occurred around 4:30 pm when the bus of Bangladesh Navy collided head-on with a microbus, leaving twelve people, including two children, dead on the spot, said Md Hasan, sub-inspector of Katakhali Highway Police camp.
Rampal Upazila Health and Family Planning officer, Dr Sukanto Kumar Pal, said among the deceased, eight bodies were kept at Khulna Medical College and Hospital, while the rest were kept in Bagerhat.
