Two people were shot dead by miscreants on the Khulna court premises. The incident occurred on Sunday at around 12:15pm.
The deceased were identified as Fazle Rabbi Rajon and Hasib. They were accused in an arms case filed with Sonadanga Police Station.
Khulna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam confirmed the death of one of the victims, while the Emergency Medical Officer (EMO) at Khulna Medical College Hospital confirmed the death of the other.
According to eyewitnesses, the two accused had come to the court in the afternoon for a scheduled hearing. After leaving the Khulna Metropolitan Court premises, a group of miscreants approached them, opened fire, and attacked them with sharp weapons before fleeing the scene.
One of them died on the spot. The other, critically injured, was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where attending doctors later declared him dead.
