Three petrol bombs were thrown at the Grameen Bank Maona branch in Bartoba Bazar in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila early today, its officials claimed.
Witnesses said seven to eight unidentified youths detonated three "petrol bombs" near the bank around 2:30am and fled immediately.
The Grameen Bank officials said one of the bombs exploded inside the bank's compound while the two others went off outside.
The gate of the bank was damaged in the explosion, they said.
Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Abdul Barik said he visited the spot and found the bank operating normally.
He, however, said that some glass broke after a firecracker exploded near the gate.
"There was no major damage or casualties," the OC said, adding that police are investigating the incident and legal action will be taken.
